  • Is trustworthy, hardworking, and self-motivated.

  • Is able to move quickly and efficiently to complete the task at hand.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

  • FIELD CREW: We are hiring two part-time seasonal team members for late March through late October. Field Crew members are involved various tasks such as weeding in the field, planting, laying irrigation, washing buckets, and various other projects.  Other tasks may include daily harvest in the fields, proper post-harvest hydration, and bunching flowers for sale. Candidates must be able to lift, bend, and work outside in the elements. You will need rain gear, a sun hat, and proper work attire including closed-toe shoes (preferably steel-toed.) We work rain or shine, so you will get dirty, sweaty and buggy. This is hard but extremely rewarding work, connecting with nature and spreading happiness through flowers! Team members can expect to learn flower harvest stages, post-harvest care, and basic market bouquet design. Some days require responding to many varied tasks, while others are more monotonous. We work hard to create a fun and laid-back atmosphere at our farm but recognize that the task(s) at hand must always take priority for a properly functioning farm.

  • STUDIO ASSISTANT: Our Studio Assistant supports our in-studio floral design arm of the business. This is a hands-on position, assisting with the end-to-end production of our floral designs. It includes everything from prepping vases, processing flowers, packaging arrangements for delivery, helping customers over the phone and email, managing trash and compost, and supporting preparation for weekend events as needed. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, squat, bend, and be on their feet for several hours at a time. Previous floral design experience is not required but preferred.

  • OFFICE ASSISTANT: Job description forthcoming.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
Initial training of the various tasks will be provided. Once you have learned a skill, you will need to be able to do it efficiently unsupervised. Hourly rate starts at $14/hr, dependent on experience. Numbers of hours may vary throughout the season based on the task at hand, with an estimated 10 hours per week minimum and potential of up to 20 hours per week. Schedule is flexible but once availability is determined, set days and times will be established with a few flex hours allotted as needed.

OUR WORK CULTURE
We value a culture of curiosity, learning, and continuous improvement. We believe in creating a positive workplace that spreads happiness. Scientific studies show that flowers are proven mood-boosters! We encourage feedback and communication. We have regular team meetings where you are welcome to bring any questions or issues that impact the team, as we appreciate having more creative thinking to improve processes, systems, and the general work environment. We truly do consider this a team effort and couldn’t do it without you. We believe strongly in learning by doing since we are still learning too! Employees who want to dive deeper into a passion project are encouraged to schedule time after normal working hours to discuss in further detail, as we strongly support independent learning opportunities for specific areas of interest.

Some of the extra perks of being on the BTFF Team include free flowers whenever we have excess, access to our farm’s resource library, a BTFF hat and t-shirt to show your pride in being a flower farmer. We consider our employees as part of our farm family, and we welcome the team to the farm for relaxed gatherings periodically throughout the season.
