Celebrate Earth Day with us! What better way to celebrate Mother Nature than to dig in the dirt and plant some seeds?

This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to grow flowers from seed indoors, how to plant them out, and how to keep them thriving all season long. You’ll learn traditional indoor seed-starting using cell trays, as well as our tried-and-true soil blocking technique. Soil blocking can seem intimidating at first but it's easy once you get going. The benefits are numerous: more vigorous root growth, less transplant shock, and less plastic waste to name a few.

We’ll plant sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, and a variety of other options. Take home your newly planted seeds for your own cut flower garden! Once you get your seeds home, you will want a sunny window or grow light to help them germinate. All seeds and planting materials are provided, including a heavy-duty reusable seed tray and extra seeds to take home with you.

• Location: Bella Terra Flower Farm, 6900 Arkona Rd. in Saline, MI

Light snacks and refreshments are provided. The workshop is held indoors at our barn which is NOT heated or air conditioned. Aprons are available for your use, but you will get messy in this class. Please dress accordingly. We will have garden gloves available for your use or bring your own if you like.

Please note that tickets non-refundable; however, you may gift your ticket to a friend if you’re unable to attend after registering. If Bella Terra must cancel a workshop for any reason, you will be promptly notified and refunded. We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to low participation or severe weather.
